Registration will NOW be accepted for the 2011 Soapmakers Gathering to be held April 9, 9 AM-4:30 PM at Cedarville High School, Cedarville OH. (about 15 minutes south of Springfield OH on Rt 72 off of I 70)

The cost for the day is $30. You may mail your registration to Margaret Neff, 3424 Harbison Road, Cedarville, OH 45314 (Please make checks out to OH Soapers) or use PayPal to naturestouch@email.com and send $32 to cover the charges. Please also send the following registration information: your name, your address, how long you have been soaping, you business name (if any), and how many Ohio Soapmakers gatherings you have attended. All registrations MUST be recieved by March 20.

The day of the gathering - registration will begin at 8:30. The conference begins at 9. We will have information about the swap, contests, and demonstrations to be posted at a later date. If you have any particular requests please email me at naturestouch@email.com.

The last day to register will be April 11th.
The last day to receive payments will be April 18th, if you want a

10th Annual Gathering!!!

Welcome to the 10th Annual Ohio Soaper's Gathering!! We had an official turnout of 108 this year (and with gas at $3.50 a gallon, that's pretty darned good, I think!) After a last-minute change of venue, we ended up in the Strongsville High School library:

If you have soaping supplies that you don't need or won't use, we have a garage sale area: Barb demonstrated Bubble Bars
and lots of people watched(My apologies to Kristy and Ruth - I didn't get any pictures of their demos!)

Every year we have a swap, and every year people outdo themselves:

Kay, the Indomitable Swap Queen, did a fantastic job in spite of the fact that she just had BOTH knees replaced - one 3 weeks before, and one 10 days before.

Everybody seemed to enjoy themselves - I was too busy (and tired - I was in Week 8 of my post-hysterectomy recovery, and I still poop out pretty quickly) to be able to sit down and visit very much. I'll have my energy back for next year. :-)

Next year's gathering will be back in Greenville, Ohio...Marie is ~~crazy~~ hosting for 2009.

Admission this year is $30 if you pay by check. Admission if $31.25 if you pay by paypal. The cost is higher for paypal because of the associated fees.

The last day for registration will be April 4, 2008. The last day for receiving payment (including checks) will be April 11, 2008. You may register after this deadline but you will not receive a goody bag. People who show up on the day of the gathering will be allowed in if you pay in full. You will not receive a goody bag or a lunch as these need to be ordered ahead of time. Please plan to come and have a great time!!

There will be many vendors and great demos but the best is meeting up with friends and meeting all the new people!

There are two motels at the corner of I-71 and Rt. 82. One is a Motel 6: Motel 6 Strongsville #1497 15385 Royalton Rd I-71 at SR 82, Exit #231/231-a Strongsville, OH, 44136 Phone: (440) 238-0170 Fax: (440) 238-1097 Rooms at the Motel 6 average about $35 - $40/night.

There are tons of restaurants and 2 grocery stores within a mile of the hotel (and on the way to the high school). Southpark Mall is also between the hotels and the high school. The hotels are both about 1-1/2 miles from the gathering. If you have any questions, please let me know! :-)

Bruegger's Box Lunch Each Bruegger's Box Lunch consists of your choice of sandwich (selected from the list below), a bag of chips, a freshly baked cookie or apple, and a crisp pickle spear.

Sandwiches are served on your choice of bread variety - Bagel, Softwich, Ciabatta, or Wrap.

Radishy Roast Beef Roast beef, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions and tangy horseradish mayonnaise. For extra zip, try it on an Asiago Softwich.

Bread choices: Softwich Sort of like a bagel, only bigger, softer and square! Available in Sesame, Asiago Cheese, Everything and Plain. Ciabatta

I couldn't remember my blogger password (or ID) and just spent the last hour trying various combinations. I'm sorry I don't have any pictures to share. I asked my family if they knew which one of the pictures Kim posted was me. Even though you can't really tell who I am, they said the red hair gave me away. I think my hair looks brown in the picture!! Looking forward to seeing more of everyone's pictures!
